Exams and Grades
Please note that in the Law School calendar Tuesday, March 13th is an administrative Monday; Monday not Tuesday classes meet. Consequently, our classes will not meet. |
Email RequirementYou will be required to send three emails during the semester. Each of these emails should discuss the issues raised by our readings or in the class discussion. Or you may respond to points made by others in their emails. In your first message to me (which will not count towards the three), I would like to know something about yourself and why you are interested in law. Please send this email me as soon as possible (and required by January 16th) to my email address: pennington@cua.edu I want to construct a listserve for the class at CUA. Each of your emails will be graded. Those receiving a B/B+ or better will be circulated to the entire class. The average grade for the three emails (30%) will be averaged with the grade of your final essay (70%) to produce your final grade for the course. I am compelled to grade this course on the standard law school curve. I don't like it, but that's how it is.Schedule of emails: 1. February 19th 2. March 31st 3. April 28th |
| One four-page essay will be required for the course (ca. 1200 words). It should be typed, double-spaced, and proofread. The margins of the essay should be one inch on each side and the font size should be 12 point.
