The exam is in two parts.

Part I: short answers and short essays
Covers Sullivan's Travels, Trouble in Paradise, Bringing Up Baby, Some Like It Hot, Dr. Strangelove. (Some basic knowledge of the films is expected.)
- notes on romantic comedy and discussion of the films and related materials in class.
- critical essay by Armstrong; theoretical essays by Bakhtin and Frye. See notes on Armstrong; and notes on theory, including Bakhtin & Frye notes.

- Tuesday exam does not cover The Palm Beach Story or the book by Pym

Part II. General essay (medium length) on a topic related to the course
