Matthew Green is Associate Professor of Politics at Catholic University and an associate fellow at the Institute for Policy Research and Catholic StudiesHis research and teaching interests include the U.S. Congress, political leadership, American elections, power in American politics, and American political development.

Dr. Green is the author of The Speaker of the House:  A Study of Leadership (Yale University Press, 2010), which was named Outstanding Academic Title for 2010 by the journal Choice.  In addition, he has written or coauthored articles in a variety of academic journals, including American Politics Research, Legislative Studies Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, Polity, and PS: Political Science & Politics.  Dr. Green occasionally contributes editorials and analyses on U.S. politics in such venues as Roll Call, The Monkey Cage, and the IPR Blog.
