Find out about this by going to the Office of the Dean of the School of
Arts and Sciences in room 109 McMahon Hall. If you are granted
transfer
credit then you will be able to take the next calculus course in
sequence without takng any placement test. If you are not granted transfer credit, then you can still take a written placement test to see if you can skip Math 111 or Math 121. Come to the Math Department office in 207 McMahon Hall to find out. We strongly encourage you to do this. |
| An AP calculus course |
| If you scored below 4 on the AB portion of the AP calculus test, or if you didn't take the AP calculus test, then you may still be eligible to skip Math 111 or Math 121 depending on your earlier course. To skip over 111 or 121, you would need to take a written placement test for that purpose. Come to the Math Department office in 207 McMahon Hall to find out. We strongly encourage you to do this. |
| An AP calculus course and I got a 4 or 5 on the AB or BC version of the AP calculus test |
| You are eligible for transfer
credit and automatic placement into the
next calculus course. If you got a 4 or 5 on the AP calculus AB test then you get graduation credit for Math 121 and placed into Math 122. If you got a 4 or 5 on the AP calculus BC test then you get graduation credit for Math 121 and Math 122, and placed into Math 221. Note: You get graduation credit even if you decide not to take any more calculus. |
